
Bodacious bombshells out from behind every tree and hut in the land of the Taiga and Tundra strutted their stuff at the tenth Russian final of the prestigious international contest, Elite Model 2000,' at the Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel on July 8.
The winners of the final will be sent on to the championship in Geneva to compete with 70 of the most heart-stopping women from around the world.
This competition has previously bestowed upon the world Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Ines Sastre, Tatyana Patitz and Tatyana Zavyalovaya.
Organizers of the event know that their trip east is not in vain.
"In Russia you meet beauties everywhere," says the founder and president of the largest model agency in the world, John Casablancas. "Many girls dream of becoming professional models. In Russia, there are new faces which will soon be working in fashion and advertising and which will be very profitable."
This year, Red Stars agency dispersed far and wide to seek out the faces of tomorrow. The hunt successfully turned up 80 potential heartbreakers. In two entry rounds on July 5 and 6, more than 1,000 girls applied, hoping to become one of the chosen.
The jury consisted of big shots in the modeling world: the director of Elite Milan, Brunella Casella, the vice president of Elite Paris and Claudia Schiffer's personal agent, Sabine Killinger, director of Elite Europe, Stephane Pescimoro, plus John Casablancas as an honored guest.
The winners of the Russian final were Muscovites Tatiana Sergeenko (15) and Darya Glagoleva (17). Burning brunette Tatiana and blond Darya walked the walk with confidence and radiance, which helped secure their fate.
