Are they or aren’t they?

TELLURIDE, Co. – Eleven months after splitting with his wife of 10 years, Nicole Kidman, and barely two months after finalizing their divorce, rumors are flying that superstar Tom Cruise is going to marry again.

Cruise, 39, began publicly dating Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, his co-star in his latest movie "Vanilla Sky," in July.

Last weekend Cruise was spotted with his 27-year-old girlfriend on the slopes in Telluride, Colorado. The two skied together, held hands and fooled around in the snow.

According to The Sun, the pair are secretly planning to wed – and soon. Their families have joined them at his ranch in Telluride, where the ceremony is tipped to take place.

It would be the third marriage for Cruise, who was first married to actress Mimi Rogers.

Ironically, Cruise also married his second wife Kidman in Telluride. (TRJ)

Kournikova spotted in new video

HOLLYWOOD, Ca. – When tennis star Anna Kournikova came face-to-face with Latin singer Enrique Iglesias on the set of his latest video, it was hardly a perfect match.

The 26-year-old son of legendary Spanish crooner Julio Iglesias reportedly balked at kissing the 20-year-old Russian temptress because she had some pimples near the corner of her mouth, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.

Kournikova burst into tears when Iglesias explained his reluctance to get cozy.

Those on the set at Hollywood's Universal City Walk shopping mall say it took nearly three hours to film the long, lingering kiss that was supposed to be the climax of the video for Iglesias' new single "Escape."

"Makeup artists were called back again and again," an insider said. "She was embarrassed and he was hardly keen. By the end the kiss was hardly the hot embrace they were hoping for."

The filming of the video had gotten off to a bad start when Kournikova turned up late to an interior shooting at Long Beach, California, the previous evening.

Iglesias was furious, according to those on the set.

"His attitude was that she was ruining his video and she was lucky to be in it at all," a source said.

But Kournikova will bounce back easily – her youthful complexion has made her the most popular female sports star on the Internet. She also is the highest off-court earner in tennis, raking in more than $10 million last year in endorsements without ever winning a major title. (TRJ)

Guitar legend Clapton marries again

LONDON – Rock star Eric Clapton married his 25-year-old American girlfriend in a private ceremony on New Year's Day that included the christening of his two daughters, the presiding priest said Thursday.

The Rev. Christopher Elson, vicar of the 15th-century church of St. Mary Magdalen in Ripley, southwest of London, said he married Clapton and Melia McEnery and baptized their six-month-old daughter Julie Rose and Clapton's 16-year-old daughter Ruth Patricia, from a former relationship with Yvonne Kelly.

"It was a very happy occasion and God's blessing upon Eric and Melia in their married life as well as for Julie and Ruth at the beginning of their Christian lives," Elson said in a statement.

He said he had known about the wedding for some time and helped the couple plan the ceremony. He said no further details would be released.

Ginny Luckhurst, a London spokeswoman for Clapton's record label, WEA, said the guitar legend was not expected to issue a statement.

Clapton buried his four-year-old son, Conor, at the same church 11 years ago after the child fell from the 53rd floor of a Manhattan apartment. The death inspired Clapton's hit single "Tears in Heaven."

Conor's mother was actress Lori Del Santo. (AP)

More headaches for the Backstreet Boys

TAMPA, Fl. – Backstreet Boy Nick Carter was arrested early last Wednesday morning for allegedly disobeying a cop's orders to leave a Tampa, Florida, nightclub, according to the Eonline! Website.

The blond, 21-year-old youngest member of the pop group Backstreet Boys has been charged with a misdemeanor count of resisting or opposing a law-enforcement officer without violence. Carter was handcuffed and placed in a squad car, but was later released on his own recognizance, police say.

Carter denies the charges. "I have done nothing wrong," he said in a statement. "My arrest at Pop City Nightclub last night was a result of simply moving too slow. I was attempting to comply with an officer's request to leave a club when I was detained and given a citation."

Police came twice to the club twice Tuesday night, first after a fight reportedly broke out and later to break up another scuffle. As officers were making arrests and breaking up the melee, Carter allegedly began arguing with an unidentified woman, according to the arrest report.

According to the police, they asked Carter to leave the club at least 10 times before giving him the parental-style "count of three" final warning. Carter refused and was arrested.

"The cops arrested him, put him in handcuffs, and then put him in the police car. Nick wasn't belligerent, but he started bawling," said one eyewitness, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"He said, 'You just want to arrest a Backstreet Boy. I've never been arrested. I don't know what to do!' He was crying hard. Tears were streaming down his face. People were laughing at him. The cops were chuckling."

Jokes aside, Carter insists his fame spurred the arrest. "I truly believe my celebrity motivated the officer to arrest me. He said my name aloud during the incident," he said. "I am certain that after a full investigation of the facts, my name will be cleared."

Until now, the only Backstreet Boy making tabloid headlines was the group's "official" bad boy A.J. McLean – the tattooed singer who in July checked himself into rehab for alcohol abuse and depression. The group was forced to postpone its U.S. and Canada tour twice, but the 24-year-old singer returned to the group in August, declaring his sobriety. (TRJ)
