Setunsky Stan, a small town styled after ancient Russian settlements near the Mosfilm movie studio, not far from the metro station Kievskaya, regularly plays host to various exhibitions of stunts.
The town has just opened its new season, with the most exciting events scheduled to begin Jan. 12 at 7 p.m., when the recently established Stunt Theater will launch its new project, the History of Russian Cinema. Amazing stunts will be performed every weekend for several weeks by professional stuntmen and students at the School of Stunts, who will re-enact some of the most thrilling scenes from popular Soviet-era and newer Russian movies. There will be many exciting fires, explosions and fights.
"This is a unique opportunity to see live what you have seen on the screen," the school's press secretary Ilona Sentyai commented. "Our stuntmen regularly take part in the Prometheus annual stunt festival [a well-known Russian stunt festival] and have won popularity among fans of shows of mayhem.
"In February, we plan to organize a gladiator fight show here at Setunsky Stan," she added.
