The only thing Dr. Conrad (Michael Douglas), a noted adolescent psychiatrist, wants to do for Thanksgiving is leave the psychobabble at the office, watch the Macy's parade with his daughter and eat a maid-prepared turkey dinner in his Manhattan co-op. However, some bank robbers, led by British bad-guy Sean Bean, need information from the mind of Douglas' newest pro bono patient (the acceptably psycho Brittany Murphy). So, they kidnap his daughter, put his apartment under surveillance, and the traditional story of robbery and your average Joe rising to the occasion begins. Douglas puts on his "Game" face to solve the mystery in Murphy's head and gives the bad guys their due in this predictable race-against-the-clocker. Fortunately, there are just enough twists to keep things from fully shifting into auto-pilot, while the flick's support staff – namely buddy Oliver Platt and wifey Famke Janssen – also add some much-needed sprucing.
