Thirty-year-old writer Roman Senchin has won the Eureka award - established by writer Alexander Potyomkin and given out to young writers and dramatists - and $3,000 for his book of short stories, "Athens Nights." The awards ceremony took place in the School of Modern Play Theater on Jan. 14 and was attended by Russian Minister of Culture Mikhail Shvydkoi. Nikitskiye Vorota Theater director Mark Rozovsky also came in to greet the young awardees. "I was particularly impressed that these stories featured convincing characters and plots," Rozovsky said. "As a theater director, I have to say that the plays written by these authors are precisely what we, theater directors, have been waiting for," he added.
