Music is always an important ingredient in romance. That's why LifeStyle has come up with a list of CDs that is sure to put you in the right mood on Valentine's Day. Here they are, in no particular order:
1. Frank Sinatra, "Greatest Love Songs." This album was just recently released, but really, any Sinatra album will do. This guy is the king of romance.
2. Sade, "Love Deluxe." Sade is one of the most sensual singers out there today, with a velvety, deep voice and dreamy melodies. This is one of her better-known albums.
3. Eros Ramazzotti, "Eros" (Greatest Hits). Ramazzotti recently visited Moscow and left all the women swooning. He's Italian enough said.
4. Scorpions, "Best of Scorpions." These were the tunes Soviet teenagers made out to in the '80s, and the band had a historic show at Luzhniki in 1989. Let's keep the tradition alive!
5. Al Green, "Greatest Hits." Who better to get romantic with than the man who brought you "Let's Stay Together"? Green may be a reverend now, but he was the king of lovin' back in the day.
6. Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto, "Getz/Gilberto." Some people might not know about this little gem but, believe us, the soft strains of "The Girl from Ipanema" will bring on the right atmosphere.
7. U2, "Best of 1980-1990." Though not usually thought of as a romantic band, U2 definitely has its moments. "All I Want Is You" has got to be one of the most romantic songs of the '80s.
8. Billie Holiday, "Love Songs." Something about Billie brings to mind lazy Sunday mornings with just you and your SO. Her old songs conjure up old-fashioned romance.
9. Sting, "Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984-1994." These are some of Sting's best tunes, including "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You," a classic love song.
a, "Something to Remember." While Madonna may be known for her raunchy '80s image or her current wife-and-mother diva status, this collection of ballads shows there's a romantic side to her, too. "Crazy for You" is a classic.
