1. Madonna, "GHV2"
Actually, we could have included anything by Madonna, the Queen of Pop, but this second greatest-hits collection has a lot of great tunes.
2. Zemfira, "Zemfira"
On her first, self-titled album Zemfira was really singing from the heart, telling us all about things we couldn't quite understand but loved hearing again and again.
3. Tori Amos, "Little Earthquakes"
Tori has gotten a bit weird on us lately. This debut album, though, was certainly a powerful piano-and-voice classic.
4. Billie Holiday, "Lady Day: The Best of Billie Holiday"/ Mary J. Blige, "No More Drama"
These Queens of Soul and Hip-Hop Soul, respectively, represent the best of the past and present in from-the-heart singing.
5. Virus!, "Pozovi menya"
From the opening intro track to the bizarre finish with "Hymn of LG" - an ode to how happy we all are that LG Electronics has made our lives better - "Pozovi menya" is some of the happiest dance music we've come across.
6. Tatu, "200 po vstrechnoi"
Tatu, now set to dominate America, has a simple formula: high-school girls making out. Oh, there's music, too?
7. Joni Mitchell, "Blue"
When Joni sings about life and love, it makes you glad to be a woman. Or... just know them.
8. Vosmaya Marta, "S prazdnikom!"
This all-girl group has to be included on the list, if not for the punk sound, then for the name alone.
