If the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, then the quickest way to a woman’s heart is through dessert. Chocolate, ice cream, cake or cookies, you name it: You’d be hard-pressed to find a single representative of the fair sex who can resist the temptation of a dessert – even if she’s on a diet or allergic to sugar. Here are some of the best places in town to go for delicious desserts for her and for you, too.

Le Gateau

Although the interior design may appear a bit pompous, this cafe has a democratic atmosphere and moderate prices. Their chocolates, produced on site, are superb.

City Cafe 317

This is a nice place located on Krasnopresnenskaya Nab., right near the White House. The best thing about it is that it offers desserts to satisfy any taste and any budget. We particularly like their ice creams.

Gostinaya

This cafe is impeccably elegant, while at the same time homey and cozy. The waitresses are beautiful, polite and quick, and everything on offer is very tasty – although it isn’t cheap.

Cafe Maner

This is the place to go for cakes. Cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, cakes with blackcurrants, caramel, nuts, apples and truffles are all available. And the quality is up to the mark. Also, there are fresh pastries, including Danishes with cherries, apples and strawberries.

Lyudi kak Lyudi

This is a teeny-tiny cafe – just a few tables. Nevertheless, it’s nice here, and you can definitely have a tasty and filling meal. We particularly recommend their pear cake, peach pudding and cappuccino brownies. And the low prices are an important advantage, too.

Pushkin

Pushkin is the epicenter of Moscow’s social life and the hangout of the city’s rich and famous. Quite a few legends are circulating about the place’s cuisine, but, at the risk of sounding repetitive, we will note that the hot chocolate here is definitely the best in town.

Uzbekistan

Despite this restaurant’s name the cuisine here is not limited to Uzbek delicacies, as Arab and Chinese dishes are also well represented. But of all the variety of Eastern desserts, regulars here prefer the assorted Eastern sweets plate. Although it’s a bit pricey, it’s huge and exotic.

Shokoladnitsa

The service here can be erratic, but this occasional minus is compensated by the coffee chain’s convenient locations. The best time to drop by for a cup of coffee is late at night because there are not many people; hence, no hustle and bustle. Their dessert menu is continually updated and expanded.
