This party could have been the week’s best club event, had it not been for the fact that its scale exceeded the usual limits. Pulp frontman and British pop-rock dandy Jarvis Cocker presented his Desperate Sound System DJ project at the Tsaryov Sad business center on March 7. Together with Pulp’s bass guitarist, Steve Mackey, Cocker spun the Rolling Stones and Nirvana, and when he put New Order on the turntable the crowd went wild. The party was great despite the place being overcrowded and the bad sound quality. According to Cocker’s wife, he liked his stay in Moscow, but nothing more than that. Unfortunately, it seems, his brief tour to Moscow didn’t excite him as much as it excited Moscow.
