The beginning of summer is a perfect time to throw a big interactive water party for your family and friends. And if there’s no swimming pool or beach near your dacha, don’t worry: Transvaal park in Yasenevo offers all kinds of water activities, including a vast beach with crystal clear water and waves. It’s awesome!

Located on the outskirts of the city, Transvaal is the only water park in the south of Moscow, which provides an exhilarating day out for the whole family. Transvaal Park is a dream for any sports lover. There’s something for everyone: wave pools, water chutes, a Jacuzzi, a kamikaze slide and a rafting river, plus there is a full program of entertainment including aerobics, discotheques, a fitness club, surfing, bowling, rollerblading, a Russian banya (steam house) and a Finnish sauna. And children are not forgotten! The park includes a special area with a shallow activity pool for toddlers, the Watermelon waterfall, side-shows, funny bridges, a Surprise Stream, and a Water Hedgehog fountain. The water temperature in the pool is a balmy 27.8 degrees centigrade.

The park is well run with a strong emphasis on safety as well as fun with trained lifeguards in abundance.

If swimming is one of your favorite sports, Transvaal park is a good place to make all your, ahem, "wet" dreams come true. You can spend hours in the water swimming and diving but there are many other possibilities, too. Kids will enjoy their own pint-sized water slides and splash pools. Plus, the playground will make their day at Transvaal one of the best ever. Fearless kids and adults alike will love the action at Black Hole, with its crawl tunnel, overhead rope pulls and tunnel slides. Over nine meters high, this tube shoots you down a tunnel with water propulsion as you dip and twist and turn on the water ride of your life. Make 360-degree turns on this monster tube slide as you race on your 119-meter long journey down the hillside of the Wild River and experience the real-life adventure of a fast ride. Or speed through a few terrifying moments of total darkness on the most exciting water experience — Yellow Dragon. There’s also the terrifying ride called the Cyclone, which I refuse to expound upon.

In between thrills, take time out to relax at the Dragon’s Crave cafe. Transvaal, with its exciting water activities, delicious restaurants, beauty salons and fitness centers, is also a good meeting point for smart people, who don’t put sport and fun on the back burner.
