Where to go for those emergency munchies? Whether you want a five-course gourmet meal, sushi or a plate of nachos, LifeStyle’s got it covered. 1) Starlite Diner
You can always count on prompt service and large portions of yummy food at Starlite, at either of its two central locations. Expect the usual diner fare served up in a cheery and comfortable atmosphere. I particularly recommend the burgers and huge cold milkshakes.

2) Night Flight
Night Flight offers high-quality meals at corresponding prices. Scandinavian owned, it makes delicious fish and poultry dishes. Its location on Tverskaya makes it handy to many hot spots at the hip end of town.

3) Zen Coffee (Lesnaya Ul.)
Need a coffee fix to fuel your nightly prowls? Zen Coffee on Lesnaya Ul. is the place to go (the one near Okhotny Ryad closes at around midnight.) Accompany your espresso with a little something sweet.

4) Pyramid
You can find almost everything on the food pyramid here, including low fat options like sushi and salad. Maybe even a sushi salad. Maybe even a chocolate sushi salad. Fusion food rules!

5) Zolotaya Vobla
Zolotaya Vobla is a great place to go to fill the gap, at least according to Barry, our reader (see Page 15). The meals are so cheap you’ll hardly notice a dent in your meager life savings.

6) The Real McCoy
This place has addictively great croque-like sandwiches and magic drinks that never seem to diminish no matter how often you sip from them. This is a good place to watch people, or to make a spectacle of oneself.

7) Bochka
Mmmm! Sometimes you wake up at 2 a.m. and all you want is a pirog or a big plate of bliny. Bochka offers top-notch Russian food at pretty high but worth-it prices. Plus you get to watch rich people.

8) Che
You’ll probably have to plan ahead for this one: It’s so popular that reservations are a must. Good Mexican food is rare in Moscow but here you’ll find delicious grilled meats, gooey enchiladas and cocktails galore.

9) Goa
Go-a long to Goa, where they have Indian, French and Japanese cuisine, keeping the well-heeled customer satisfied. I often walk past here on the way home and inhale the delicious and piquant aromas of eastern climes.

10) American Bar and Grill
This is a good place to go and watch sporting events. Sit back with a cold beer and a plate of nachos and watch the fight or the ice-skating championships. Then celebrate a victory with a nice juicy steak.
