When the weather’s hot, carts of cool beverages come rolling out onto the streets. LifeStyle found out what everyone’s drinking to stay cool this summer and where they’re drinking it.

Sergei Luzov, 21, Promoter
I love to drink ice-cold Coca-Cola or Mirinda. More often than not, I grab these beverages outside like in a cafe or a summer veranda.

Dmitriy Peskov, 32, Valet
I work outside and it’s hot so I like to drink ice-cold kvas. I prefer to drink it out of a keg because it’s just not as tasty from a bottle. I also love carbonated sour milk drinks like Iron and Tantan. They are very helpful in the heat. They make you less thirsty and more alert.

Anastacia Manapova, 17, high school student
I love to drink hot tea even if the weather is warm. I prefer black teas or karkade. Sometimes I drink green tea – it’s good for your figure. And I always drink it without sugar or anything else. Also, my brother Zhenya and I really love to drink the olive juice from a can of olives if it’s cold. After that, you’re not thirsty anymore.

Silva Akopova, 25, Marketing agent
I like drinking beer. If I’m outside, I prefer Nevskoye or Stella Artois. If I’m in a bar then I order Paulaner or Franziskaner, which is an unfiltered German beer. I also love Gosser, it’s made of quality ingredients. My favorite places to sit and drink beer are Proekt O.G.I. and Starina Myuller. And of course, the beer has to be ice-cold.

Mikhail Yushkov, 17, Student
Which drinks to I love? Anything nonalcoholic. Hot or cold? Well, hot tea is best to drink at home. I drink green tea with lemon without sugar. When I’m outside, I usually opt for carbonated mineral waters, especially BonAqua. More often than not, we drink our mineral waters in the gazebo that we have in our courtyard. But they took our gazebo away. Luckily, we still have the benches.

Vladislav Orzhekhovskiy, 19, Student at the Moscow Automobile Institute
I drink mineral waters. I like Borzhomi, Essentuki, and Aqua Minerale. I always buy it in two-liter bottles. For me to drink two liters in half an hour is normal. And of course, I drink my water cold. And it’s not really important where, when or with whom I drink my water – I just drink it whenever I’m thirsty. My opinion on drinking beer – it’s very bad.

Yuriy Oleynik, 25, Sales Manager
I usually drink pineapple juice with the pulp. I don’t care whether it’s cold or not. I practically always drink juice at home because there it is civilized and calm. If I’m on the street I usually drink regular old water.

Olga Gudneva, 36, Artist
Which drinks do I prefer? Anything alcoholic, whether the weather is hot or cold. More often than not I choose cocktails. But sometimes I prefer red wine. I usually drink outside – in parks, near fountains, (that is, if it is not winter, of course). What I drink at home always depends on the situation.

Yelena Konyaeva, 20, Student
When I find myself thirsty outside, I usually grab either a Sprite, cola, or a non-carbonated Aqua Minerale – and all have to be ice-cold. At night with my friends we usually go down to the Arbat and drink beer. My favorite beer is Klinskoye light.

Alexander Kuznetsov, 36, Driver
In general, in the summer heat I love to drink ice-cold beverages. More often than not I choose to drink beer, and I like all sorts of beer. My favorite place to sit and drink beer is at home. But sometimes I opt to go out on a street bench and drink. Besides beer? Depending on my mood maybe I’ll drink other beverages, but, you know, I’m always in the mood for beer. After drinking beer if your thirst doesn’t subiside, at least your mood will be better! And of course, it’s best to drink beer with friends.
