NATALYA KRIVOSHEI, ECONOMICS STUDENT

Unfortunately, there are not many Russian products that are properly advertised and branded. I'm not against buying Russian products. On the contrary, I am already buying some. But to better promote Russian products, producers should be more active in marketing their goods and in advertising. However, over the last several years, Russian food and beverages have become better and better. Nowadays practically all the food I eat is locally made.

ROMAN VORONTSOV, ENTREPRENEUR

I'm ready to buy Russian products. In fact, I do buy practically only Russian food. Some things are so specific to this part of the world that they are hard to substitute them with something else. For instance, I can't even imagine buying non-Russian caviar. If you are speaking about choosing between, say, a Russian-made coat and a foreign coat, I would definitely buy the Russian one, even if the two are similar.

MICHAEL GEKHT, INSURANCE ADJUSTER

I don't know; I buy things I like regardless of their country of origin. Though there are some Russian goods that I like: Komandirsky watches and Borzhomi mineral water. Russian producers certainly have to learn a lot in order to compete with foreign manufacturers, not only using competitive-price advantages but also quality advantages.

YEKATERINA IZOTOVA, MARKETING MANAGER

Russian food is unbeatable. I eat practically only Russian food. Russian medications are also quite cheap and reliable. But, when it comes to clothes and cosmetics, I don't buy Russian products. The quality of Russian-made cosmetics and clothes still lags behind their foreign counterparts. And foreign cosmetics advertising is overwhelming, while Russian producers have only started advertising.

OLGA SOBACHKINA, STUDENT

I support Russian producers. If I see that a given product is of good quality and I like it, I buy it. Still, I would not buy any Russian-made cars. It's not even a question: Our cars are simply worse than foreign cars. Russian producers should re-examine their products and make them with the highest quality possible. Since they have low expenses for energy and labor, Russian producers already have a lot of advantages over importers.

VLADIMIR TEMKOV, COACH

I buy either Russian or European goods. I'm sorry to admit it, but many Russian products are still lower in quality than imports. So even though Russia has a big textile industry, I prefer foreign textiles. It's the same with tools and home appliances. The Russian equivalents are cheaper than imports, but sometimes they can't compete in terms of quality.
