Zeppelin, a private "aeronautical club," well deserves to be called a "proper night club." What does this mean? Strict face control, regular customers, a dozen up-and-coming models on the dance floor and several VIP nooks and crannies where prices would shock even the most prosperous Muscovite. Zeppelin has it all.

Casuals are not let in. According to the club's owners, admittance is impossible except on the recommendation of a respected member. However, as I managed to learn, exceptions are made for beautiful girls — the joint swarms with them – famous and distinguished personalities, exceptionally well-dressed clientele and people wearing Byblos glasses.

Construction work at Zeppelin lasted for as long as three years and the first thing that strikes one's eyes upon entering is that the project was far from low-budget. All the accoutrements, from doorknobs to a tiny model dirigible, attract the visitor's attention. There is a small stage in the club's restaurant hosting performances by bands from neo-jazz Volkov Trio to Serbian punk-rock group No Smoking Orchestra and from the Leningrad band with its obscene lyrics to Moldovan hardcore Zdob Si Zdub. Patrons seem to enjoy the diversity of music as well as the food and drinks, despite the exorbitant prices. For your information: A small cup of espresso is around 100 rubles.

Zeppelin is perhaps the only place in the city where you can see practically all the popular, modern young stage and movie directors all together at the joint's dance floor, which is hidden behind a mirror door. Music is equally modern, represented mainly by dip-house and progressive house.

The club's upper floors accommodate a beauty salon with a barber shop, a solarium, a sauna ($40 per hour) and other pleasure-giving malls — all furnished and equipped to the latest standards of quality and technology.
