Think Russian Apartments are Depressing?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

When I first visited Russia one of my first impressions was just how lovely the interiors were. It’s true that the cold, colorless massive apartment blocks still tend to dominate large areas of the country. But Russians love beauty as anyone who has visited downtown Moscow and St. Petersburg — among other cities and towns — can attest.

While some of the regions outside of the center are more utilitarian than asthetic on the outside, a lot of people may be surprised at what hides behind closed doors in the restaurants and dwellings.

Congratulations Vasilisa Shergina on winning the Interior Design contest. She beat out 300 other designers. Take a look at her apartment design and I think you’ll quickly understand why.
